Opera
Ms. Song is a Lyric coloratura soprano, specializing in the role of the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte. She has performed this challenging part with distinction in various esteemed productions such as those by Chautauqua Music Festival, New York Lyric Opera, and many concerts. She has also showcased her versatility by portraying a range of characters on stage, including roles like Zerlina in Don Giovanni and Despina in Cosi fan tutte by the Maryland Lyric Opera Young Artist Institute. Her notable performances in roles like Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Adina in L'elisir d'amore, and Serpina in the planned performance of 'La Serva Padrona' at Bukchon Art Hall underline her depth as a performer.
In contemporary opera, she has demonstrated exceptional abilities, embodying prominent roles in popular Korean contemporary operas such as 'Walking on the Moon' and 'Hero Yoon Bong Gil.' These performances at renowned venues like the Seoul Arts Center have received much acclaim. Most recently, she played the lead role of 'Sunyi' in the contemporary opera 'Spring Spring' at the Seoul Arts Center Freedom Theater. Interestingly, in 'Ralph's Dream (Original: The Mystery of the Dock),' she took on the role of the opera star Edwina.
Concerts and Activities
Having proven the beauty of her voice through numerous concerts and recitals at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, and Seoul Arts Center, she has also been a featured guest in various performances, including collaborations with the Sorial Orchestra in 'Great Youth' and Classic Interpretation Concerts with ensembles like the Judis Quartet, Hankyung Philharmonic, and El Quartet. Through these performances, she effectively communicates with audiences in various languages, showcasing her vocal prowess and dynamic range.
In 2011, she made a special appearance as a soprano guest at the Dokdo Concert hosted by the Republic of Korea Guardian Council. She has also appeared as a soloist at various events promoting cultural exchange between Korea and China, the UK's Royal Academy of Music, and cultural exchange music festivals with Sookmyung Women's University.
Media Art Industry
Beyond her music career, she has made a mark in the motion picture art industry. She won first prize at the 2018 Hanbok Modeling Contest of the World Fashion Culture Series Promo. Following this, she worked as a Hanbok Ambassador in New York, appearing as a model for the Korean segment of the Fashion Culture Series and shooting the music video 'Nellafantasia' at the Brooklyn Bridge. In 2017, she participated in the contemporary opera film 'Stumbling Blue.' She has also made numerous appearances on various TV programs such as KBS 'Immortal Songs,' CTS 'A Very Special Praise,' and 'Everyday Joyfully,' aiming to connect with audiences.

Nanyoung Song has received accolades and awards, including the Rookie of the Year Award and the Grand Prize for Vocals in the Seoul Orchestra Competition. Recognized for her outstanding contributions, she has received numerous accolades and scholarships throughout her journey, including the Korean Community Contribution Award, Korean Creative Culture and Arts Award, and the Seoul Orchestra Competition Grand Prize.
Education
Currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Classical Voice at Sookmyung Women’s University, Seoul, Korea, with an expected completion in 2022, Nanyoung Song continues to push the boundaries of her artistry. She holds a Master of Music in Classical Voice from Manhattan School of Music, New York, and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice from Sookmyung Women’s University, Seoul, Korea. Nanyoung Song has also enriched her skills through prestigious institutes and master classes across the U.S and Korea.
In addition to her musical endeavors, Nanyoung Song is deeply committed to giving back to the community. She has organized and performed in concerts for hospitals and care centers, sharing the gift of music with those in need.
